Support repeating dates of date field

I have configured a time-line which displays events almost as I expected it.

My problem is that I have a custom content type called an 'Event'. This has a 'Date' field (Date module version 6.x-2.6). This Date field is a date field with repeat options.

When I create an event, in the normal Calendar (views calendar with filter on node type) the events appear as I would expect. An event, for example, on Monday at 1PM to 2PM repeating for 2 weeks appears twice on the calendar, once on the first monday, then on the second. However, using the timeline my event stretches all the way from Monday 1PM to the following monday at 2PM - i.e. it does not seem to be handling the repeating functionality.

Has anyone any experience in resolving this issue?
