There should be a way to "export" back all the definition of a feature to the database. That could be useful in cases where you need/want to remove a feature module or just redo them (repackaging).
If there is any solution at this time to get this done, I would be (very) happy to know it.

RalfZosel commentedI am looking for a way to get rid of a feature too. We made this feature at the very beginning of the project (when we had no experience with features at all). Now there are lot of dependencies to other modules we do not want any longer. On the other hand in this feature are some basic content types we need. As I unterstand when all components in the feature are "overridden" I simply can remove the feature in the file system. But how can I override the content types? If I change the name of some fields or add other fields, the status in the feature for content types is still "Standard".
Do you have a hint for this?
I described my problem also here (in german): http://www.drupalcenter.de/node/27230

Grayside commentedThis issue is a duplicate of #663136: Provide way to Import views/true exportables back to the database.
It also has vague similarities to #636402: Remove dependency on Features from generated features and implications on #1014522: Upgrade existing features to D7.
