I upgraded last night to the latest version of Drupal. All seemed fine. After I logged out as User 1 I noticed the problem. The content is now missing. All the blogs appear blank, the polls don't show up and the Welcome to your new Drupal website! page appears as the homepage. I logged in as my test account for registered users and the same thing happens. I log back in as User 1 and all is normal again. I have checked all the obvious settings and have been going over all the settings and searching the forums all day with no results.
Please help if you can.
Thanks,
George

what upgraded from what
what upgraded from what version to what version ?
are you sure your access controls are set properly for all users ?
As stated I upgraded to the
As stated I upgraded to the latest version 4.7.4. I don't recall what the previous version was unfortunatly. I have gone over and over the access controls many times and I may be crazy but it doesn't seem like there are as many options as their used to be. Like for the blog module the only available option is "edit own blog", nothing about viewing a blog. On the poll module there is only create and vote, create is only checked for admins and vote is checked for all the different types of users. I have been using drupal for almost a year and have upgraded many times on many sites and have never encountered this issue. I am at a loss.

Without knowing what version
Without knowing what version you upgraded from, you could check the back up you made previous to upgrading for the original changelog. Or reinstalling this backup should give you a better comparison maybe ?
If you originally used 4.6 and upgraded to 4.7.4 you will need to upgrade any modules you were using previous to upgrade.
I don't have the old version
I don't have the old version number file. I have however discovered another clue. When I go directly to a blog post say then I get the message; Access denied You are not authorized to access this page.
I don't know why this is and cannot locate where to grant access.
What about the "access
What about the "access content" permission. Is it there?
The only spot under
The only spot under administration >> access control that has the words "access content" is under the "node module" section. Every user type has the box checked under that option.

Normally that should be
Normally that should be enough to give everyone read access to all published content.
Have you installed (or installed and uninstalled) any additional access control module?
I don't remember what old
I don't remember what old modules I had. I simply deleted the modules folder off of my server when I upgraded so that I could rechoose only the modules that had current version files. This is probably what is causing my problems but how would I know. I believe that I had some access files on there before but as far as I know there is no way to tell what they were and they were all deleted.
SOLVED
Ok, I solved the problem. I went in the database and saw some tables for simple access. I reinstalled simple access, then I disabled it properly, then removed it and all is as it should be.
Thanks for your time and assistance everyone, your questions led me to the answer.

Well I have the same problem.
Welcome to new site for everyone other then admin.
And, mine is an upgrade, but blew the tables and most directories away when I did it.
I am finding this version very buggy.
Having issues with the color .css not being used either.
Anyways: Did the Harry fix below and now it works. Record was there in the user table but not the other two.
Why does this stuff happen?
Alternate solution
If nothing works try Harry's suggestion: http://drupal.org/node/20397#comment-111175
His solution worked for my upgrade to 5.0.
thank you harry!
HARRY! YOU SAVED MY DAY!! I WAS GETTING CRAZY !!! THANK YOU !!!!
