Would there be a possibility for QQ support?
QQ is a popular IM for Chinese people.

I don't know what you would need to implement this.
I can tell that Libeva Library is much used in OS Messengers for QQ support (http://sourceforge.net/project/evaq , http://www.myswear.net/myswear/eva/html/hierarchy.html)

The project was initially done for the integration of Windows Live Messenger IM Control with Drupal.
