I have the CCK field included as a content type, and set to allow 'Unlimited' entries. When I first create an item of the appopriate content type, the duration form element appears twice. If I add only a single duration entry, saving the form creates two duration entries. From that point forward, each time I hit the Edit form for the content item, an additional duration item appears on the edit form. The additional items are all filled with '0' and there doesn't seem to be a way to remove them (short of directly accessing the db). ... is this a known issue? any thoughts on things I might try?
