I´ve tested this module and can confirm that it creates a new profile node for each user, instead of using the already existent node.
Is that the way that it should work?
I think it shouldn´t so that´s why I´m setting this as a bug report. Please correct me if I´m wrong and this is the normal behaviour, but if you already have a node used as a profile (and some core profile fields that you want to add to that node), the module just creates a new node with all the core profile module stuff.
Maybe this issue is just out of this module´s scope?

yes, the same for me. this module sucks!
Hint: I mass delete all these new (duplicate) profile nodes using views bulk operations module (VBO)
