I use panels and the panels everywhere modules to override my theme templates. I currently use the Fivestar module, but I'd like to switch to rate because I like the customization. I enabled the module, created the widget and was expecting the find the 5-stars in the comment form (see screenshot). Did I miss a configuration? I'm logged in as user 1 so permissions shouldn't be an issue.

weka commentedAre you trying to configure the Rate module so that users can rate/review a node while posting a comment same way as the Fivestar "Comment widget" does? This functionality is not available in Rate at the moment. Also, see the #944194: difference between rate and fivestar post.

jdlind38 commentedYes, that is exactly what I was looking to do. I look forward to that add functionality until then I will continue w/ the Fivestar module. Thanks for providing the update.

weka commentedYou are welcome. I have changed the title and category, but it is up to the maintainers to decide if they would like add this functionality in the future.

Fidelix commentedI'd also like to see that done, so I'll subscribe.

off commentedI would also be very useful as possible. This is the last thing that can fivestar and what can not this module!
Thanks a lot for the project!

RKS commentedI can't get Fivestar to work at all and that's how I came to this module. Hoping this functionality is included eventually. Until then, I continue my quest...

off commentedI am upset, apparently such a functional can not wait

joecanti commentedHi,
Has there been any update on this? This would be great to get this in as it means I could just stick with Rate and remove fivestar. I guess the easiest way would be to have a 'rate' field like fivestar, but I guess that would go against the way rate works to some extent?
Many thanks, Joe

mauritsl commentedRate widgets are not form fields like fivestar. That makes this indeed hard to implement in the current release. The best and easiest way is probable defining a hidden form field and changing the javascript so that the value in de form is updated on click.
I'm implementing Rate as fields for the 2.x version, but that will be available only for D7. This feature is on my list to implement for 7.x-2.x, but I'm not sure if a backport will come available for the 1.x branch.

joecanti commentedHi,
I Iook forward to 2.x! I'm currently using Drupal 7 anyway - so although I cant say what the demand is for 6.x, I can say it makes a lot of sense to do it as a field in D7 as everything is a field nowadays.
Many thanks for the reply, Joe
