My ultimate goal is to set up a process so that anonymous users can send an email with a photo (of a missing pet) and create a node. I think that is possible.

My first step is to set up a "Email Harvest Configuration" I am using a GMail address to start to try and avoid problems.

Allowed File Types- avi jpeg
Server Address: BLANK
username for mailbox: name@gmail.com
password: filled in
Mailbox port: 995
POP3: POP3
Extra Commands: /ssl/novalidate-cert
Mime Pref: HTML
Delete Messages After Tehy are Processed: checked yes

Then I have: Directory Storage Configuration with a path to a folder set to permission 777

When I click Save Configuration the message is: Mailhandler could not access local folder:

The local folder name is BLANK.

This is confusing because the Mailhandler Module asks for a local folder but I do not see that option with Media Mover.

Do the modules interact somehow?

And that is where I am stuck.

Here are some configuration settings from GMail: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=13287

Title: trying to create nodes via emails from anonymous users; error "Mailhandler could not access local folder:" » be careful downgrading from 2.x to 1.x
Status: Active » Closed (works as designed)

My apologies, this appears to be a result of downgrading from 2.x to 1.0-beta7

Restored, reinstalled 1.0beta7 and it appears to work, at least past that point.

Title: be careful downgrading from 2.x to 1.x » Mailhandler needs upgrade in 6.2.x

I changed the title to reflect the content of the posts. Not trying to be a jerk here, but the project page explicitly states:

Media Mover 2
Media Mover 2 is nearing an alpha release. It extends the current Media Mover functionality in several ways, the most important one being unlimited actions per configuration. You can download it from CVS. Note that there is no upgrade path at present. Currently this version is for development only. Please do not use it unless you are ready to provide patches for your bug reports. Thanks.
