When a diff is performed on a record set, the module currently highlights the entire field that was changed. It would be nice to actually highlight the specific change for quicker identification. For example, if a user made a few changes to the body of the node, instead of highlighting the entire node body as changed, it would be nice to highlight the actual changes made inside of that field.

Agreed. Working on this implementation now and will update feature request as soon as a working demo is available for download.
