Hi, I was wondering aside from manually adding a 'field type' to be able to upload a pdf file - if you could add this to biblio itself so that I would just need to upload my pdf to the citation directly and automatically have a little pdf icon appear for the file to be able to be downloaded easily.

i.e.
Corbett, KD, Yip CK, Ee L-S, Walz T. 2010. The monopolin complex crosslinks kinetochore components to regulate chromosome-microtubule attachments.. Cell. 142(4):556-67.

would appear as
Corbett, KD, Yip CK, Ee L-S, Walz T. 2010. The monopolin complex crosslinks kinetochore components to regulate chromosome-microtubule attachments.. Cell. 142(4):556-67. Abstract Download [pdf image here]

Did you try adding a file field to the biblio node?

I did. However, when I try to display this in the Biblio list, I'm finding it difficult to have everything appear on the same line. The Pdf does appear on the individual biblio node (http://crystal.ahasaetharu.net/?q=node/7). But ideally I would not have to click on the node and could download it from the main list. (Incidentally, I tried setting this up using views and ended up with a mess. But admittedly I could try again).

I still think this would be a useful feature if its not too much trouble to put in place.

We have been adding a url into the full text field to present the full text of a citation. It would be good to have a pdf icon shown with the citation listing on the main screen which could be clicked on for showing the pdf. Is there a way to do this?

Hi Cliff,

I think we had this discussion before, but if you attach you pdf's using a file field then you get the icon in question (see attached image).

There goes the memory! I do remember - too late. Is there a way to use the "full text" field as the holder of a link to a pdf. We uploaded all the pdfs separately and place a url like: http://publicdocs.iacat.org/pdf_files/ci04-01.pdf in the field which is available to view. Can I setup the pdf icon to look at this field and have it show up on the citation listings?

Also, where do I look for information on how to setup the icon by adding a field. I ddn't see how to do it yet.
