Panel nodes can't change layout

Hi,

We're having a bit of difficulty with panel_nodes. We seem to be unable to change layout once we've selected one. The switching layouts works fine on Panel Pages, just not on Panel Nodes.

I've attached a screenshot of the problem. There just doesn't seem to be a 'Continue' button, only a Save button and that just reverts back to the layout it was. [EDIT - I can't seem to attach a file] but I can select the layout, and have choice of Back or Save.

I wondered if it was the particular layouts shown in the screenshot, but I tried creating one using the default layouts and it had the same problem. So I don't think it's the layouts.

I tried it in Garland in case it was theme related. Same problem occurred. So not the theme.

A problem that might be related, or may require a different issue (or an issue somewhere else) is that when I edit a Panel Page the layout changing happens in the admin theme - whereas in a Panel Node, while the edit tab is admin theme, the layout tab is in front end theme (I believe this is so you can see it more realistically when laying out). I just wondered if that might have something to do with it. NB: I have installed Administration Theme module to force the layout page in to the admin theme and the problem still happens so it's not this. That's another of the many variables ruled out.

Also removed Javascript aggregation just in case - had heard that it can sometimes cause problems for Panels. No effect.

We're using Panels 3.8 and CTools 1.8.
