Hello!
I've just installed Drupal on a Windows Server and I'm now facing this problem: how do I change the permission settings of the "files" folders? It worked well with non-windows-servers (FTP and CHMOD 777), but right now I just don't know how to make things work on this Windows Server (the control panel is Plesk).
Thanks in advance for any replies and clues.

its done using the file manager tool in plesk. watching the above videocast will give you the knowledge you seek.
That looks to be Plesk on a
That looks to be Plesk on a *NIX machine. One of my clients uses a Windows server from Nexpoint and the permissions area looks entirely different, and extremely confusing. I'm still trying to figure it out myself.

The link was taken from the Plesk Windows Tutorials - End User Series section of : http://www.nexpoint.net/support/web-hosting-tutorials/
During the vid, you can see icons' for ASP.net as well. These icons wouldn't be included on a NIX machine.
The NIX video is a different path. I suppose the vids could be outdated.

how about on windows localhost - no plesk?
As a newbie with no php or site admin experience/knowledge I have been driving myself up the wall trying to figure out just how to place links to relevant pdfs (that actually work) on my side bar. I don't understand how implementing something as basic as this feature has to feel like pulling teeth.
I set up Drupal on my localhost following the 'Cookbook for new Drupallers'. I have been up and down changing settings and using different modules until I finally settled on FileManager and Attachment. The files are there (I can see that my files have been uploaded to http://localhost/drupal/public/active/0/sample.pdf) but when I click the link - it says "400 Bad Request" What gives?
If it's only just a permissions (CHMOD 777 as I've seen elsewhere) how do I do this with on a windows localhost with no plesk?
AAAAARRGGHHHH!!!!
