Our Story
Hi, thanks for looking at www.exiph.com (pronounced: ex if dot com)! exiph.com is a picture and location blog built in Drupal. What is a "picture and location blog?" We call it locamage blogging - for "location and image" blogging.
Locamage blogging allows people to creatively express themselves on the run with smart phone images and the exif tags captured with these images. Simply email the images to in@exiph.com and the Drupal contrib modules take over. The pictures analysed by the exif module (special thank you to Dave Stosik), are parsed and linked together as a social network to create a sort of locative online community of users. The service is a natural extension of other popular social networking sites.
The service is easy to use, is free to all users and aims to serve as a spring board the "useful use" of exif metatags within images for other, more broad and deeply impacting social services. Right now it's completely invite only - follow us on twitter @exiphcom for an invite.
Why Drupal?
Drupal was a natural choice because of the vast array of available modules and community support to accomplish tasks that would've otherwise utilized valuable beginning resources that can now be concentrated in other areas - contrib module tweaking by our team, marketing and promotion. The Drupal community and support throughout the project has been inspirational and amazing.
