Exif location module data not extracted when image node created with mailsave

Hi everyone. I am running a current drupal release with exif v13+stosik patch, location, gmap, mailsave, mailhandler and image modules. Users upload image content to my site via email. I then extract exif tags from images and place into locations module via exif. The latitude and longitude coordinates are not making it into the locations module properly (it shows no longitude coordinates, and longitude coordinates for latitude) when first uploaded. When i rebuild image derivatives, I get proper functionality but I have to do this manually and should be handled by the initial node creation.

All of this works properly when the image node is not submitted by mailsave. Is this a mailsave issue?
