I have been running Embedded Media Field (1.25) with Youtube on a D6.19 site for a few weeks now and there are currently *thousands* of files of the format emvideo-youtube-xxxxxxxxx_ZZZ.jpg in my sites/default/files directory. They just multiply there like the viruses. :) Doesn't seem to be a problem if I delete them. They are recreated as emvideo-youtube-xxxxxxxxx.jpg. And then re-recreated over and over as emvideo-youtube-xxxxxxxxx_ZZZ.jpg copies, where ZZZ goes from 0 to hundreds or thousands if you don't delete them. I just reached some hundreds megs of thumbnails(thousands files) for just a few embeded videos(aprox.20). I think they are replicated on every cron run ?

drupjab commentedme too. I posted this a while ago and got no response.

drupjab commentedAlso found that the "files" table in the database has thousands of entries for these as well. Might want to clean that out (carefully!)

billk2 commentedDid anyone get to the bottom of this? I've just tried updating to 6.x-2.5 but I'm still seeing the same behaviour.
It's not just youtube thumbnails. I've got the same problem with emvideo-bliptv-xxxxxxxxx_ZZZ.jpg and emvideo-brightcove-xxxxxxxxx_ZZZ.jpg files.
Are you using feedapi at all?

alexverb commentedI'm not using feedapi and I am experiencing the same problem. A similar problem has been reported here (http://drupal.org/node/894702), but the supplied patch is out of date.
