When I was looking for a hosting company, I read through this thread. I also talked to a friend who was also looking for a company. He suggested bluehost (www.bluehost.com) and I found they have a great deal. 50 GB space, 999 GB traffic, *shell access* via ssh and sftp. Plus they are really fast on support.

I moved my drupal site in just 5 minutes.

Higly reccommended.

Bluehost is the slowest of all and only benefit i see is they offer more bucks on their affiliate programs.
