Has anyone found a fix for this issue yet. Installation goes smoothly until it come to saving the configuration page. Nothing happens and the site never gets finished.

I haven't face this problem ever, can you post more about this, maybe this
problem is about mod_rewrite and apache configuration,
after the installation is finished you must be redirected to the page that
contain the link that lead you to the home page for your web site.

I will provide whatever information you like if you will specifically ask for what you need. I have encountered this problem over and over again using IE and FireFox browsers. I have tried using the default Drupal 6.16 build and a Drupal 6.16 build that I have running elsewhere. What happens is when I start the install, I select install drupal in english, and then the database is built etcetera until the page “Configure Site” comes up. I enter the data, admin name, password, email address, so on and so on then press “Save and Continue” but the page is just refreshed. I check the Dbase and nothing has been added to the user tables. I really don’t know what else to tell you beyond that. I can provide any files including the php.ini file if you like.

This machine is running XP
This machine is running XP but I have tried it from Windows 7. I don't think I can post a screenshot here. But you should be familiar with the page /install.php?locale=en&profile=default. The site is on a hosted server. It is installed on a sub-domain. I thought it may be an issue with the .htaccess file but I'm not sure why it lets me get so far into the install before stopping. I have checked, double check, the MySQL permissions, even deleted databases and users again and again. I have had the install be successful but then later I cannot login at all. In those cases I have cleared the cache_* fields and cleared my temp internet files, cookies etc. But still could not login. So I tried a fresh install. Now this. I have no clue what is the problem. If you need any files or other information I will try to get it.
