Permissions for field groups cannot be set

Hi,

since I enabled the content permission module, all newly created group fields are not displayed anymore. The groups that had existed before I enabled the module are still shown, but any new ones do not appear, same content type, same display settings. Hence, I believe it is not a themeing error. I checked the permissions, but the module only exposes settings for actual fields (fields_...), not standard groups (group_...).

Does Content Permissions affect view access rights for group fields? If it does, should it not allow the admin to set the view rights in the permissions? Or are the rights derived from the fields within the group?
