By default any content that
By default a teaser for any content that is checked as Promoted to front page will show up on the home page, /node. This under Publishing Options on the Create content/Content edit form.
You can also define a certain homepage on the /admin/settings/site-information page.

Contact form is a core module
Contact form is a core module in drupal you just need to enable it form module section and create a new contact form for your site.
There are many ways to add portfolio gallery in your website. See the http://groups.drupal.org/node/20384 which could give some of the modules which will come handy.
