if i press "preview" in a node the layout is not changed to target scheme i selected in node's node_style.
after i press save it is displayed and for e.g. my left navigation is lost, while i have selected a theme that removes my left navigation and should display navigation in the right sidebar. if i'm able to see this wrong selection in the preview i can cancel or change the node scheme, befor i'm "lost".

Zen commentedHello again :)
I actually considered doing something about this, but decided against it. This was primarily because I believe that the preview, technically, should only affect the preview portion of the preview page. Therefore, this invalidates what this module accomplishes or limits what can be previewed. If you believe that this can be circumvented, please let me know.

hass commentedi have added this feature in "template selector". I graped the post items with the selected template, altered the node vars and displayed the node with the correct template. Not sure if this is the best and only way, but this way worked well. i'm not sure how difficult all this becomes with deleting variables like user image from preview, but i was in the situation where i lost the navigation menu on a page, and if i saw this priior in preview i will not save this wrong layout...
So i simply come from the problems not having such a preview and loose control after a save operation... :-(

hass commentedHEAD looks like a Drupal 5 version, isn't it? I'd like to test with 4.7.x... please backport all patches into 4.7.x-dev for testing.
Zen commentedThis has been merged into the 5 branch. I doubt if this is going to be merged into 4-7 as time is not a luxury I have nowadays. If you're still interested in the 4-7 branch, I'll be happy to give you commit access.
Marking this fixed for now.

hass commentedi tried this with 2.1, but it isn't working... what could be wrong?
Zen commentedI just tested this and it appears to be working fine. Please provide steps to reproduce and ensure that the theme compatibility mode checkbox is checked.
Thanks.
