please extend the module, so we are able to add an image representing the scheme. An Example can be found at http://yaml.t3net.de/Auswahl-der-Vorlagen.18.0.html. This makes it easer to select the appropriate scheme in the node view.

Please do not simply add the themes previews images... they are limited to the 150x90 pixel and this is not so good here.

I have no idea how you propose that we accomplish this. The functionality of this module is different from the one in your example (from what I understand), i.e, this is not just a layout manager. Perhaps an iframed example or a link to an existing node might be a possibility, but the former is tacky at best while the latter is complicated by stuff like node access restrictions etc.

I don't mind adding a link to an existing node using the scheme, however. What do you think?

Why not simply adding an optional image representing the node_style?

If you may ask how your module is used in real live, do you really think or better know - someone will add a node_style and will never reuse this node_style? i don't think so... extending the dropdown node_style selectbox *endless* makes no big sense from my point of view. who will do this? having 1000+ different node_styles is nothing someone will do, and really never by hand... and this will makes the node/edit page slow loading (big html size and big sql resultsets). i think - it makes sense to have some styles, but reuse them. And this is why i said it looks better to move the menu item to the settings part, while it is not used so often - but this is a different point- you won't fix.

i'm not so experienced what others then me do with node_style module, but i think it becomes totaly unmanageable if you create one node style for every page you have. i know you have many many options for removing content and all of them makes sense in different situations. from usability it is no good idea to change the layout with every page... However i'm the friend of a "plus" logic - for e.g. add the user image to one article if i'd like to do, without adding them globally to every article, comment and so on... but different problem, too.

...and please have a look to my "template selector" screen shot attached - ready with this feature. You refused CVS access for this module.

  • An image is useless unless it is created dynamically. This module doesn't supply pre-prepared schemes.
  • The way that you use this module is to create a scheme, give it a meaningful name and reuse it. The position of the menu has no bearing on this. You do not create a node style for each node.
  • Your CVS account was approved long ago.

Marking as won't fix as I don't see this happening.
