I am missing autopath patterns for node-reference fields.
I want to get access on referenced node via tokens, so that I can use them in autopath patterns.

What is autopath ? Maybe you actually mean pathauto instead ?

Categorizing.

This seems to be a bigger issue than node/user_reference: there does not seem to be any token support for fields in D7, and this should probably be fixed at the field.module or token.module level

Confirmed offline by yched: no field support in core token handling. Work underway in the Token project:

BTW, once the field support is in Token, the References module is still responsible for its own field tokens. More details to come.
