How hard would it be to make this exportable via features? I'd be willing to help out on the code if someone could point in the right direction...

I would be more than happy to help out with this, I just don't have any experience working with features development. I've done a lot of php and drupal module development. This hasn't been a big enough thorn in my side to figure this out on my own, but if someone wants to take lead, I'll help out wherever I can.

Would be quite useful, I'll add it to the queue of v2 features (will initially target D7 then backport to D6).

In doing some research, I am trying to do this using strongarm, as the nodeaccess module just sets variables, right? So if I build it using strongarm, and then just rebuild permissions once I enable the module, would that do the same thing?

As record_features does not work with nodeaccess i guess those are not vars

I am sorry, but no new features will be added to the D6 version. All future efforts are being focused on D7 (and D8, in time) going forward.

This is mostly a cleanup of the issue queue. If this is a feature request you would like to see in Drupal 7, please submit a new issue.
