It would be useful if we had an aggregator category that was specifically for job postings. It's prime source could be things tagged as job postings on groups.drupal.org, but companies looking to hire could post to this category as well. Job postings are currently banned from the planet feed, which makes sense in terms of keeping it informational, but the current rules ignore an essential need of our community. Being able to browse one feed for recent job postings can only help smoothe the friction of finding Drupal talent, which continues to be one of the factors holding back growth of Drupal.

wmostrey commentedIsn't this what http://groups.drupal.org/jobs and http://groups.drupal.org/jobs/feed are for? I find the filters on that page to be even more useful since it allows for customized feeds (only contract jobs that allow telecommute for example). This would not be possible with a Planet-like aggregation system.

laura s commentedDuplicate of #953668: Create new aggregator category "Drupal Jobs Announcements" which already has some discussion and could be reopened and continued.

robertdouglass commentedThe jobs on groups.drupal.org are useful but I'm thinking specifically about postings on external sites.

mr.baileysAlso see #993302: Revert "no job announcements" on Planet Drupal. There is insufficient agreement over the "no job announcements" rule, leading the site maintainers not enforcing it and allowing them, which adds to the confusion.
