Idiot Newbie Question regarding Content Updates

Travstar - November 24, 2006 - 04:09

Hi Guys,

For you reference, my test site is at: http://www.frontierbs.com.au/drupal-4.7.3/

Im having trouble when uploading content. Im sure im missing something completely basic with the way im doing it and somebody might be able to help

1. If you notice on the main page, there is 'test December event". thats an event i created throught the 'events' module. Notice how it placed the teaser on the front page. I want to be able to make events without them showing up on the main page like that. (to create the event, i logged on, went to content > create content and selected event.) - is this right?

The same thing actually happened when i created a weblink with the weblink module! why does it always put it on the main page?

Thanks in advance!

Promote to front page

Under publishing options (last group on edit page) uncheck "Promote to front page".

administer -> settings ->

VM - November 24, 2006 - 04:26

administer -> settings -> content types

lists the content types available. next to each content type is a configuration link. under this link are the options to change the default behavior of promote to front page option, as well as the other publish options. if there are certain content types you "don't" want promoted to the front page, uncheck them in this area. They when you deem a certain piece of content worthy, promote it to the front page, individually.
