In looking over the front page of the "Cases" section (http://drupal.org/cases) I noticed that one user (Arnold Leung) added three of cases from his firm. In the interest of not turning that page into a link dump I think we need to have a rule about first posting to the issue queue with a request for addition. For now I've removed only one of the three posts Arnold added, however I think the other two should be removed as well until he asks for some community input.

Hey guys.. me here.

So as to reduce/control the work load of webmasters, how about we have it such that if a case study has been approved for the front page, it can be added there without extra approval.?

I only added case studies that have been on the front page and hence pre-approved by webmasters..

I just think if we add this extra step, then its un-necessary extra work for webmasters..

Thoughts?

I think there are too many front page posts to allow them all on that list (unless we want a very long list). There was an issue that dealt with this (#372039: List out and migrate case studies from book pages to new Case study content type) as part of the redesign, and I think it warrants reopening that issue, as I think this should be part of a general improvement in the case studies. I think we should be looking to replace that page with a Solr-enabled view, so that people could drill down based on a number of criteria.

A user should never add a site they created, funded or has any connection to without getting approval. Period.

I feel that an issue should be created to get added to the /cases page so webmasters can discuss the merits of being added. Like Alex said, it's not a link dump, so by reviewing sites we can (try to) get a good mix of sites on there.

#4 feels like the right way to go- I'll remove the items I find that were added by the companies that created them, if I can find them. @Arnold, can you open up issues for the sites you added, if you'd like them there again?

So whats the conclusion for the process??

This thread started on Dec 14th and it is now Jan 19th.

I have been trying to follow every step that I have been told here to add my case study back to the list, and I still dont know what the real process is.

This is getting real frustrating.

@Arnold- I hear you. IMO you have done everything you needed to get the WWF case study back on that page. My suggestion would be just to suggest adding it to a current category, as it seems that's what held things up in that issue. Then again INADOW (I'm Not A D.O. Webmaster), so I'm not really sure what my (or any non-webmasters) input is worth.

There is now new case studies section http://drupal.org/case-studies. Old /cases page got unpublished and now redirects to /case-studies. Closing as this issue is no longer relevant.
