Saw this module from the module list, checked for bug reports and....GREAT, NO BUGS!
I have not really encountered any problem with this module so this module MAY be great. THE PROBLEM IS, it supports version 1.1 of the webcalendar which is the development release and has TONS of bugs. So it doesn't help much even if this module has no reported bugs.
The application to be integrated has bugs starting from the installation. I ignored them because I felt confident in the idea of why would there be an integration if the app isn't useful. And so the app turned out to be really full of bugs and in my opinion, not yet usable.
Quoted from the WebCalendar's website:
Release Name: 1.1.1
Notes: This is the first development release of version 1.1. This is beta quality code. For product use, please use the 1.0.X release.
So is it possible to support a stable version of the app instead?

jaredwiltshire commentedYeah, It only requires slight modifications to support 1.04 so I'll prob include a user-app-drupal.php file for it soon.
If u wanna start using 1.04 right now just comment out the "defined( '_ISVALID' )" line at the start of user-app-drupal.php (you dont need the login-user.php file for 1.04.
I believe the only thing that wont be working properly is the login link in WebCalendar.

JohnNoc-old commentedI dont think I have the capacity of experimenting at the very moment. The development site I am working on now is scheduled to go live in 2 days. But I am very much excited to use the app and the module. When I get the time after launching my new site in a few days, I will be willing to experiment on this on a new install. I am not a coder (a tweaker, maybe) so I can just help by reporting found bugs on the integration :-))
I think we have to keep this issue open until either the module supports Webcalendar 1.0.x fully or 1.1.1 becomes stable enough to use. IMHO, it isn't advisable to use WeCalendar 1.1.1 for live sites and by keeping this issue open, other Drupal users can have the option of experimenting on the app plus this module on their development site for the meantime.
This is a very promising module. I surely hope that soon it can be used for live sites. Thanks!

Nancy Nangeroni commented... I downloaded the module today and tried an install, and when I try to go to admin/settings/webcal, I get this error:
warning: Missing argument 2 for drupal_get_form() in /drupalpath/includes/form.inc on line 61.
I greatly appreciate your work on this module, and hate to ask for more, but can you point me towards whatever might be causing this? I'm working on a brand-new installation over an old site, just brought up drupal (my first time) today after a couple weeks' work. You can see it at www.gendertalk.com, but I've got the old version of my webcalendar active, since your integration isn't working for me yet. The calendar integration isn't crucial, but since WebCalendar has a problem with spam until 1.1 is released, I was hoping to use drupal user auth to prevent the spam to the calendar.
Anyway, thanks a bunch for the work you've already done on this.

Nancy Nangeroni commentedI messed up the name of this thread, so sorry! That's what I get for trying to move too quickly. I've restored it to something somewhat reasonable; please fix as appropriate.
My newbie status thusly cemented.

jaredwiltshire commentedOpen a new issue and let me know what version of Drupal and WebCalendar you are using. Sorry I took so long to read this.
jaredwiltshire commentedActually scrap that. Its almost certainly because you are trying to use the Drupal 5.x version of the module with Drupal 4.x.x.
Nancy Nangeroni commentedJared,
You were right about the version problem. I must have misunderstood the release file naming sustem, thinking that the file name "5.x-1.x-dev" meant that it would support releases 1.x-5.x.
I can now configure webcal, but when I try to go to www.domain.com/?q=webcal, I get the following error:
Error connecting to database:
Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)
I though that this might be because I was running drupal in a subdirectory using a redirect from the root, but moving the installation (something I was going to do anyway) didn't help.
Interestingly, if I try to access the calendar directly (without going thru drupal), I then get the same error. Disabling Webcal restores the calendar function outside drupal.
My WebCalendar installation is version 1.0.4.
Sorry to present more problems, but have you got any idea what this might be?
Thanks,
Nancy

This doesnt seem to be an issue with the module.
In the future please create a new issue. This has nothing to do with support for the stable version of WebCalendar.
