The System requirements page needs some love. It is to long, tries to cater to multiple versions, contains to much information ("or our use of INNER JOIN's with join_condition's") or too little ("Drupal makes use of features not available on some inexpensive hosting plans, like LOCK TABLE", instead of a list of required permissions).

A good start would be to remove info relevant to ancient versions to subpages.

Title: Rework system requirements » Update system requirements to reflect changes in Drupal 5.
Priority: Normal » Critical

We have to adapt system requirements (http://drupal.org/requirements) before the release of Drupal 5 as the minimum MySQL version changed to 4.0. Let's move the requirements for older versions (4.7, 4.6) to childpages.

I moved the entire content of the page to a child page. We can filter out the important bits after clean up. I took a stab at editing the content keeping and adding some relevant notes in the process. Feel free to add/subtract, etc.

The MySQL 4 requirement has been reverted. See http://drupal.org/node/105855.
