The disable node menu item project allows users to disable a node within a menu from the node add/edit form. When creating nodes it can be tedious to have to visit the menu administration page to disable a nodes visibility within a menu. It seems to make sense to have the ability to hide a node within the menu system while creating / editing the node and eliminating the additional step of having to visit the menu administration section.
Edit: My initial motivation for this module came out of need to deal with many nodes and having them react with proper breadcrumbs and menu active trail. I have since found: http://drupal.org/project/menu_position which seems like it may be a better solution for sites that need to deal with large node counts.
