Upgrading This Theme
NineSixty (960 Grid System)
This theme is based on the 960 Grid System by Nathan Smith. Details on its background can be found in a journal entry.
NineSixty is a base theme with all the files provided by the 960 Grid System. From the sketch sheets to all the styles from the framework are included. There are a few modifications so it better fits into Drupal. All the details are inside the README.txt file.
Any modifications should be done from sub-themes. All that's needed is a "base theme" entry within your sub-theme's .info file pointing to "ninesixty". For example, base theme = ninesixty.
It is not simply a grid based layout system. It helps workflow by allowing better communication between developers, information architects, visual designers or anyone involved. The sketch sheet can be used for the rough initial designs by the visual designer. Meanwhile the OmniGraffle and Visio templates can be used by the IA. From there the Photoshop and Fireworks templates are provided to refine the sites graphics and layout. From start to finish with all sides involved, this helps everyone share a common visual language.
Even if you are the only one developing a site. The simple layout system is very easy to implement freeing you to other more important tasks.
Touch
Touch is a great looking Drupal 7 theme. The theme is not dependent on any core theme.

Color Settings
AT Commerce uses the color module (like Bartik and Garland). This allows you to modify the color of the theme to your liking. There are 3 preset color combination's and you can generate your own by using the color picker on the theme settings page.
Superfish Module and Drop menus

Responsive Slideshow
AT Commerce has baked in support for a lightweight responsive slideshow - it works in mobile! Please see the README in the theme for setup instructions - you only need one module and setup is pretty strait forward and uses an article type with an image field.

Be sure to install Adaptivetheme - you must download and install it first. Adaptivetheme provides the core functionality such as layout control and other settings.
Sub-theming or Simple modifications
Take the easy route and download Footheme, our quickstart starter theme for Corolla, Sky, Pixture Reloaded and AT Commerce. With full instructions and all the hard bits taken care of Footheme can get you up and sub-theming in no time. View online help about Footheme!. If you just want to make very small modifications you can use the styles.custom.css file which is included in the theme - you will need to uncomment the reference in the info file for this to load. Remember to back this up when upgrading though, or it will get overwritten, so you need to re-add each time you upgrade.

Keelhaul the div!
The Mothership is a HTML5 base theme that offers a workaround to Drupal’s obscure love for wrapping everything in 2 divs and slapping on 3 CSS classes wherever possible.
Like other blank canvas base themes (eg Stark, Framework), this theme will NOT make your site look pretty. Unlike the others, it will do more to help you clean up the mess of excessive markup that Drupal provides out of the box, offering settings to optionally remove CSS classes in the markup.
If you really like the markup & CSS options that Drupal provides - this theme is probably not for you, and that’s perfectly okay.

Yes the mothership is responsive - if you add the basic layout css file (and we have even included a fix to make IE understand mediaqueries)

We like clean mean markup & css that you as a themer wants - not what Drupal thinks was good for you 5 years ago.
