Experimental project
This is a sandbox project, which contains experimental code for developer use only.
Disable default system messages variable and creates a regular block to show them. This way they can be shown in any region of the theme.
You can find other similar modules that deal with system messages in Displaying Status Messages from drupal_set_message()
