Themes

Themes allow you to change the look and feel of your Drupal site. You can use themes contributed by others or create your own to share with the community. Contributed themes are not part of any official release and may not have optimized code/functionality for your purposes.

You can also create a sub-theme of an existing theme. A sub-theme inherits a parent theme's resources. Read more about Sub-theme structure and inheritance.

You can also view a full index of themes listing only their titles.

Boilerplate

big.png

This theme was developed with a few goals. Great HTML5 support based on the excellent Boilerplate HMTL5 template, a base fixed/flexible responsive layout similar to Zen, and SASS support, all while keeping the code base small. Like Basic, the stripped down version of Zen, this is designed to run alone, not to run as a master theme with sub themes.

These are the features of this base theme:

  • HTML based on Boilerplate HTML5 3.0, settings based on the Basic theme and the Boron HTML5 theme provides semantic markup
  • Simple default CSS from Boilerplate HTML5 for browser consistency
  • Browser feature detection classes included in HTML tag
  • Modernizr.js allows for HTML5 element use in IE
  • Box-sizing: border-box layout with IE shim - CSS padding and border width no longer included in width calculations. Easily removed if not wanted.
  • Three default responsive layouts at <480 (iPhone), 480-800 (netbooks), and >800 (PCs)

Omega 978.GS Starterkit Theme

The popularity of 978.gs has made designers favor their design with larger gutter space over those provided by 960.gs which is used primarily in the Omega theme.

With our own designers using the 978 grids and some demands from other designers, we have thus ported the 978.gs into the Omega theme, as a starter kit, replacing the default grid values with those in 978 for normal, 748 for narrow and 1218 for wide.

This is still heavily in testing and feel free to clone a copy and try it out. Do note the theme works only for Drupal 7, base on the HTML5 starterkit.

How to use this theme

  1. Clone this git repository, place the entire folder in the sites/all/themes folder.
  2. Activate the theme in your Drupal installation

neostandard

This is a theme that aims to be a replacement for the system default theme only with less unnecessary classes and wrapper.

The basic idea is that sub-theme developers need to opt-in wrappers and classes if they need them.

Omega Bootstrap

An Omega Subtheme with (eventually) full, built-in support for the Twitter Bootstrap UI.

Note: Requires Omega Theme and LESS module.... and upgrading the bundled lessphp library to the latest and greatest to support bootstrap 2.x

Also: Bootstrap is APL licensed, thus not able to be uploaded quite yet. Currently, you will need to clone the repo and copy the files into respective js/bootstrap and css/bootstrap directories. We will bring in Libraries API support shortly! I have set the .gitignore to hopefully fend off these directories from accidentally getting uploaded in any commits!

Currently:

  • Toggle Bootsrap LESS and JS in theme settings
  • Theme includes to override core form, menu, pager, item list, breadcrumb, search bar and message rendering. (Partially adapted from Twitter Bootstrap Theme - not yet finished!)

Todo:

Everything else...

  • Replace 960.gs with bootstrap grid system (I'm testing a few ideas on how best to do this)
  • Libraries API Support (drush command or makefile for download!) to retreive the theme
  • More permanent fix for lessphp version issue
