Please, before upgrading from 5.x.1, read carefully the Note in the User Mailman Register frontpage.

The main features of this stable release are that the user subscription status is retrived from mailman server (so you can change it also with mailman itself and User Mailaman Register will still correctly display it) and anonymous user can be enabled to join yuor lists providing its email.

This is the full list of new features and bug fixes:

#351075: Unsubscribing via email not reflected in User_Mailman_Register: A syncronized mechanism to retrive user subscriptions status directly from mailman server.
#358532: Problems when users change their subscription with mailman manager: An UMR submodule to import a mailman dump file in order to syncronize user subscriptions and passwords.
#386962: menu link for mailman register gives permission denied for anon users: mechanism for anonymous users subscription (or invitation).
#423976: When display in own category is unselected, subscription information is not shown
#423974: Naming suggestions for Menus and Tabs + minor text changes
#447966: Permissions are backwards
Default choice in user registration form is no more global but per-list.
Added css classes in the subscription form for custom visualization.
To display lists subscriptions in the registration form of new user, now you have to set the "can subscribe .." permission to the "authenticated user" (instead of to the "anonymous user" as before) as well as to activate the "Visible in user registration form" option.

Bug fixes:
- Added workaround to prevent plus signs from being converted to spaces when searching or paging through results.
- Wrapped the title of the "Faceted search" fieldset with a t() function call (thx Justin).
- Fixed requirements error that is always thrown by Search Lucene Content during a fresh Drupal install (thx Seth).
- Removed error message when attempting to remove a non-empty index directory on uninstall.
- Added source control files to the mask when removing index files on uninstall, because it is not polite to remove directories that are under version control.

Eldir is a component of the Aegir hosting system.

Ægir is a set of contributed modules for Drupal that aims to solve the problem of managing a large number of Drupal sites. It does this by providing you with a simple Drupal based hosting front end for your entire network of sites. To deploy a new site you simply have to create a new Site node. To backup or upgrade sites, you simply manage your site nodes as you would any other node.

This release is the final release of our 0.2 development cycle, which has been focused on complete support for running multiple concurrent Drupal releases, and managing upgrades of sites between Drupal releases. This particular release improves the install instructions, fixes some theme issues, allows for self-upgrade of the Aegir frontend (only with the backend though), fixes some bugs with the profile installer and syncs up with the freshly release 2.0 release of Drush.

IMPORTANT

Differently from previuos drupal 5.x.1 , when the anonymous user has the "access user_mailman_register" permission control, it could able to join any list of which he has also the "can subscribe .." permission. Don't activate that permission if you don't know what are you doing or your lists coul be spammed by anonymous emails. If you activate it, set the "invite" list option if you want only invite them.

When a user email is going to be changed, new email address will be now correctly subscribed with previuos digest/nomail subscription user setting
