As a Senior Drupal Developer and Technical Lead, you will be responsible for the architectural design, development, migration, and maintenance of enterprise-scale web applications. You will bridge the gap between complex backend logic and modern component-driven frontends while leading engineering teams to deliver robust, secure, and highly scalable digital solutions. Additionally, you will drive innovation by integrating cutting-edge technologies like Generative AI and intelligent search frameworks directly into the CMS ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

1. Architecture & Core Development

Design and implement high-performance, secure backend architectures using PHP and Drupal (versions 10 and 11).

Engineer custom Drupal modules, plugins, hooks, and webform composite field extensions tailored to complex business workflows.

Define robust data models, taxonomy schemas, configuration management workflows, and custom entities.

Execute complex migrations from legacy environments (Drupal-to-Drupal or external CMS platforms) into modern Drupal ecosystems.

2. Modern Frontend & Component Engineering

Build reusable, component-driven layout architectures to empower editorial and marketing teams.

Develop frontend solutions using Single Directory Components (SDC) and execute advanced integrations with tools like Drupal Canvas.

Ensure all frontend assets are fully responsive, performant, and compliant with modern enterprise UI standards.

3. Next-Gen AI & Search Integration

Lead the integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) via platforms like OpenAI and Amazee.ai to introduce intelligent automation within the CMS.

Architect and deploy advanced AI Search engines using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to provide context-aware, semantic query results.

Build custom AI Agents and Assistants to streamline content curation and operational tasks.

Optimize enterprise-grade indexing architectures by implementing and migrating search infrastructures (e.g., Apache Solr to SearchStax).

4. Technical Leadership & Delivery Governance

Provide technical steering, govern code quality, and conduct strict code reviews to ensure a "First Time Right" delivery with minimal QA defects.

Oversee and mentor junior developers, facilitating knowledge transfers and supporting their career progression.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional Agile Scrum teams, stakeholders, and product owners to map functional specifications to technical configurations.

Technical Experience & Qualifications

Experience: 12–14+ years of professional web development experience, with a heavy emphasis on enterprise Drupal backend and frontend architectures.
Core CMS: Expert-level mastery of Drupal 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11.

Languages: Advanced proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, SQL, HTML5, and CSS3.

Frontend Paradigms: Strong familiarity with SDC, Drupal Canvas, Twig, Layout Builder, and JavaScript frameworks (jQuery, React JS).

Search & Hosting Cloud: Deep technical knowledge of SearchStax, Apache Solr, Acquia (including Acquia AI Gateway), Pantheon, and AWS ecosystems.

Tools: Expert usage of Git/GitHub, Jira, and Rally within Agile frameworks.

Certifications (Preferred): Acquia Grand Master / Triple Certified Developer and specialized AI certifications (such as Google Cloud Generative AI Leader).
