Ben first began building websites in 1995 at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management while an undergraduate at Northwestern University. He later went on to work at Neokom, Concrete Media, and Kaplan Inc, earning promotions in every position he held. After returning from Tokyo where he taught English for 3 years, Ben built a freelance web development practice focused on open-source technologies suited to his loyal non-profit clientele. In 2007 he became a partner at Digital Loom.
