I provide Drupal website design, development, project management, support and training to school districts in Ohio who host their websites with us.
I discovered Drupal as a result of transitioning school districts from proprietary software to something we could develop and build on in-house without fear of a third-party company going under. We got ahead of the curve choosing a CMS based on Gartner research that had Drupal as an up-and-comer when we were looking to solidify. Started out with Acquia then moved on to build our own with the help of a graphic design agency.
In addition to my full-time job as the primary web developer at Tri-County Computer Services Association, I have also been active in the Drupal Association community running for the DA Board twice as a community advocate and volunteered with the BackdropCMS.org open-source fork of Drupal 7. I've also been interviewed for different podcasts to include Matthew Tift's "Hacking Culture."
All of our sites are hosted in our data center about 20 feet from my office. As a non-profit owned and governed by the school districts we serve, we can guarantee longevity of their sites. What started out as an interest in how the internet worked has developed into a career that keeps me interested. Prior to creating web sites, I was a communications teacher, journalist, photographer and videographer.
I'm father of two great kids who left the nest to go discover what they want to do with their lives and a husband to a wonderful wife who puts up with my eccentricities. In addition to what I do for a living, I am an adventure-seeker who loves to travel and meet people from different cultures.
Oh, I also like long walks on the beach and toasting sunsets from my sailboat.
Cheers!
Tom
