Last year Drupal won the Packt Publishing award for the best Open Source PHP Content Management System (CMS) and the best Overall Open Source CMS. This year the competition is very strong for Best Open Source PHP CMS and the Drupal community has just a few hours left to nominate Drupal into one of the top 5 spots to move to the finalist round. The Drupal community can not rest on our past victories; you need to take action and nominate Drupal right now! Nominations close in twelve hours and Drupal needs your vote to end up with the top 5.

The Packt Publishing awards highlight the growing impact the open source Drupal social publishing system is having on the CMS market, specifically with cases such as media and entertainment companies, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations. Drupal usage has grown exponentially in recent years with more than 2 million downloads and an estimated 250,000 Drupal websites worldwide. The Drupal community includes almost 600,000 registered members on Drupal.org. Awards like Packt Publishing's Best Open Source CMS Award reinforce this momentum and help introduce Drupal to new users around the globe. Therefore we ask you to take action now and to nominate Drupal, and help us to spread the word about this nomination phase.

Nominate Drupal for the Best Open Source PHP CMS before midnight EDT tonight.

Please Retweet. Act Now: Nominate Drupal for Packt's 2009 Best OS PHP CMS now, polls close at midnight http://bit.ly/OKWMA

Hi, they moved the nomination process up earlier this year and changed the categories around. I was under the impression that we had to submit our nomination application earlier, but instead we actually had to get the voting for the nominations.

I'll try get more of the marketing team engaged in helping. As it stands Bryan House and Bert Boerland stepped forward to help get this announcement done quickly.

Cheers,
Kieran

voted... and voted for drupal as best Overal CMS (had to specify as 'other' since it wasn't listed--strange why it's not listed there)

Drupal's no longer eligible for the "Best Overall CMS" award because it's won too many times. Instead, it will be competing against Joomla! and the 2010 Best Overall winner for the "Hall of Fame" award.
