Mix of German and English in UI is confusing [#2682841]

Hi everyone.

Great work putting this together. I was kicking the tires today and ran into German terms used for the names of tabs and fields and field description. The next thing I did was to see if I could download the English translation, so that the UI would have a consistent language. That's when I discovered that the only language in use (as a library) was English.

I get that you're a German team and that's why these UI elements use German instead of English terms. I suggest either going all in with the German, Translate the tabs into English, or allow the choice of either English or German in your UI. It's confusing to see some English terms and some German terms.

I guess this could be fixed within drupals settings. I just installed the latest dev in german (beta3 has installation bugs) and added the english language.

Personally on multilanguage sites I prefer to have all admin UI in english. This can be managed in the user profile page with "language settings".
There you can define a "Site language" and a "Administration pages language".

Another setting you should check are the "detection"-settings: /admin/config/regional/language/detection.

I also spotted that two modules are disabled after the installation:
- Configuration Translation
- Content Translation

Unfortunately currently I get "file not found" errors on the "admin/reports/translations"-page which makes it impossible to import the english language files.

The issue with this is, that the english files on the translationserver are named with ".en-gb.po" (e.g. drupal-8.1.x.en-gb.po).

Therefore from my 1st impressions of thunder I would recommend to install the english version first and add any other language second.
Maybe something for the documentation?

When I try to import a translation (english gb, http://ftp.drupal.org/files/translations/8.x/drupal/drupal-8.1.0-beta2.e... from https://localize.drupal.org/translate/languages/en-gb) manually I get the following error:

InvalidArgumentException: The configuration property settings.handler_settings.target_bundles.tags.0 doesn't exist. in Drupal\Core\Config\Schema\ArrayElement->get() (Zeile 79 in /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/testlab_drupalDistros_D8/thunder-8.x-1.0-beta/core/lib/Drupal/Core/Config/Schema/ArrayElement.php).

I´m sure that´s an issue cause when I added "english" as language the version is the default "us".
But "English gb" was not an option when adding a 2nd language.

I now did a new installation with "english" language as default, then added german & british (en-gb) and the interface translation import worked.
Nevertheless there are still mixed language issues existing.

I am also picking up some German words - specifically on the search form. How do I go about changing these to English?
I installed Thunder using English as the standard language.
