Problem/Motivation

There is a five year old sandbox named "Drupal 9": https://www.drupal.org/sandbox/mirakolous/2492331

There is no code in the repo (just a single line .info-file).

The name "Drupal 9" is a problem, because it looks like Google et al serves it up as a landing page on some searches for "Drupal 9". Making some people use its issue queue to post support questions about the Drupal 9 core, which are unlikely to be seen by anyone working on the core.

The owner has never responded, but was last active here in July 2020. I've sent him a PM, asking him to delete (preferred) or rename this sandbox.

Proposed resolution

If the owner takes no action in two weeks, I propose to rename it: "Mirakolous SB".

Remaining tasks

  1. Wait for owner to respond.
  2. Rename it on March 31 if there is no response.

Users cannot delete projects, not even Drupal.org site moderators.

I agree to rename it. This would also avoid that project name appears when users select the project to assign to an issue, for example when they create an issue starting from https://www.drupal.org/node/add/project-issue.

This is not a full project - it is a sandbox. Even before I became a site moderator, I had no problem deleting my own sandbox projects when they became obsolete. (I know that full projects cannot be deleted, neither by their owners nor by the site moderators.)

As for the project name, I think this was started before Drupal 9 became a "thing". The project name was probably chosen because this was the 9th Drupal project by the owner or something.

But I agree that we rename it if the owner does not show up - even if that single line in the .info file does not merit preservation.

Hey, I renamed the project https://www.drupal.org/sandbox/mirakolous/2492331 and marked it as unsupported and obsolete.
