As dictated, from Port of Bio to D6 discussion/issue, this issue is for those interested in the Bio to D6 patch submitted there by jerdavis.
Why? In short, because there's a need/request. But briefly to elaborate at least from my perspective:
1 - C_P does not offer the feature/functionality of the "profile takeover" (see issue) though described (at one point) "proven critical", as Bio did/does.
2 - Functionality of using Autonodetitle AND Content_Profile_Registration.module appears at issue (reg. integration sounded critical as well, with many ANT users)
3 - one size does not fit "all".
Set to "needs work" at outset of this discussion as WHEN PATCH APPLIED (not for Bio 5.x-ANY, only port patch) - neither select list nor radio (or assumed checkbox) type widgets for required / registration integrated fields are presented on reg. form @ user/register. The label & help text shows, but allowed values do not.

rhimes CreditAttribution: rhimes commentedappologies for not posting sooner - somebody just reminded me ;)
Bounty project (http://drupal.org/node/615378) has been successfully completed for some time, Bio to D6 port works great for anyone who's interested.
EDIT - attachment link no good see #6 below

thatotherdewd CreditAttribution: thatotherdewd commentedbio.tgz links to http://drupal.org/files/issues. Is there any chance these code changes will be committed to the Bio source?
thatotherdewd CreditAttribution: thatotherdewd commentedWill you make the bio.tgz available to the community?
rhimes CreditAttribution: rhimes commentedtrying to re-attach - hmmm... apparently attaching .tgz doesn't work anymore
attaching as .zip - rename "bio_custom" folder to just "bio"
RobLoachYou should probably use Content Profile and add any missing functionality there instead.

1 - this is a "discussion regarding a D6 port" - not a feature request, nor bug report
2 - IF the maintainers want to use the code in the zip file to port to D6, they're welcome to it (BTW, if not a maintainer, I don't believe "won't fix" would be your call).
3 - thanks for the attention to the topic you provided by commenting and changing "closed" to "closed" (huh?)
4 - I'm not understanding your recommendation - "You should probably....and add missing" what??? - use a module that doesn't do what I need, instead of using a custom module I paid for to do what I need? Is that what you're suggesting?

RobLoachHaha :-)
What functionality from Bio is missing from Content Profile? It's just that Content Profile has kind of been picked out as the standard to do this type of thing. With more then 20,000 websites using it, I'd consider it pretty solid. If there's something missing from it, I'm sure one of the 20,000 other websites using it could assist in adding the functionality you need.
Bio was the predecessor to Node Profile, which has evolved into Content Profile. Both modules are much improved over Bio, from both the user administration standpoint, and on the backend.

rhimes CreditAttribution: rhimes commentedyou didn't answer the question, you asked another that is answered in orig. post
read the issue rather than using the "jump to" links - improvement is totally subjective - like one forward & two back - numbers aren't impressive when nothing else is available

apadernoI am closing this issue, as it has been created for a release that is now not supported.
