After I started experimenting with a platform with pressflow my other d6 sites suddenly also were reported to have the 'Pressflow' profile in the hostmaster interface.

Probably because they kept the profile machine name as 'default' but changed the name to 'Pressflow'.

It just looks a bit confusing...
The only thing I can think of is using the machine name instead, but it's still ugly.

I'm just +1'ing this as I find it annoying too, that all Drupal 6 sites appear as 'Pressflow' install profile and that you have to choose 'Pressflow' as the install profile in the site form even when you want a selection of Drupal 6-based platforms to choose from.

I'll try and devote some time to look at this soon.

Why don't we take the issue upstream and bug the pressflow people to fix their stuff?

Would be nice if they would....
I can understand why they chose this method though.

To be a drop-in-replacement of core they could not change the name of the default profile. So they just adapted the human readable name.

Currently the Aegir datamodel expects the machine name and human readable name to be tightly linked.

Why does pressflow change the profile name if they wish to be a drop in replacement?

The human readable name changed to "Pressflow" is to display on the site status page that you are running Pressflow, not vanilla Drupal, I think ;)

I have submitted a trivial patch upstream, let's see how it goes...

Trying again https://github.com/pressflow/6/pull/36 since Pressflow left launchpad and a few issues behind in the process.

I was tempted to change status to "Works as designed", but let's way (some more) on upstream's feedback.

I'm not allowed to close https://bugs.launchpad.net/pressflow/+bug/801127 to a 'Won't fix' thus it is now 'Invalid'

Issue is still open @ https://github.com/pressflow/6/pull/36/files
