Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
This module seems to duplicate the functionality provided by CMF module (http://drupal.org/project/cmf)
Perhaps it would make sense to join forces? if not - what are the differences, pros/cons between the two modules?

lpalgarvio CreditAttribution: lpalgarvio commentedwhat i am proposing is to extend Improved Admin module by "stealing" ideas and code from the following modules:
Improved Admin: nodes, with Views + VBO + OG Views + Pathauto + Content Translation
Administration Menu: nodes, comments, taxonomy and users, with Views
User Management: users, with Views + VBO
Manager: nodes, with Views + VBO
Content Management Filter: nodes and comments, with custom code
Node Admin: node, with custom code
so that Improved Admin becames the best solution for adding a better manager of Nodes, Comments, Taxonomy and Users, by using Views, VBO and other related modules,
effectively merging these modules in and deprecating them, and thus reducing duplication efforts and confusion, for an improved and better supported solution (improved admin).
User Management: #1235170: similar modules, deprecate
Manager: #958520: similar modules, deprecate
Content Management Filter: #1236002: similar modules, deprecate
Node Admin: #592416: similar modules, deprecate

NancyDruCMF does not require Views. This looks like a useful module, but, believe it or not, I actually have sites without Views at all. That may or may not continue when I convert them to D7, but I doubt I am the only person in the world who has developed sites without using Views.

lpalgarvio CreditAttribution: lpalgarvio commentedlet's compile a usage list,
Reported installs as of 01 Aug 2011:
Improved Admin: 214
Administration Menu: does not count because it also bundles a widely used menu
User Management: 161
Manager: 417
Content Management Filter: 7515
Node Admin: 629
Caveats:
Improved Admin - main solution with Views
Content Management Filter - secondary solution without Views
Perhaps the best approach is to do this by phases:
a) NOW:
...a1) mark Node Admin as "Obsolete" - Content Management Filter and Improved Admin should be the main alternatives.
...a2) state in the project pages what is happening, with a link to this issue and another to Improved Admin and Content Management Filter project page.
...a3) mark the alternatives with "Minimaly maintained" and "No further Development".
b) when a stable version on Improved Admin occurs, list Improved Admin as highly recommended.
c) when a higher usage count (>400) occurs, mark Manager as "Obsolete".
d) when Comment, Taxonomy and User functionality are added to Improved Admin, mark User Management as "Obsolete"; release a D7 version (Views 3.x)
e) when a higher usage count (>600-1000) indeed occurs, contact Administration Menu.
f) if and when Content Management Filter usage starts to drop fast... TBD.
i seriously doubt Administration Menu will ever drop the admin views sub-module. here's why:

rcross CreditAttribution: rcross commentedits worth noting that none of these projects have a stable D7 version.
Admin_menu has a strong RC and Manager has an Alpha release, the rest don't seem to have any D7 Activity.
lpalgarvio CreditAttribution: lpalgarvio commentednot exactly true.
what i anticipated has come to happen -- admin_views was moved out of admin_menu, and now its a separate module:
http://drupal.org/project/admin_views
seems to be the latest, most up to date and maintained module, with the biggest feature set
it uses Views and VBO, and has a D6 (alpha) and D7 (stable) branch.
it's bundled with basic views that imitate drupal core interface, but can be easily adapted to each scenario.
from what i've tested and compared in the D7, it's now the top solution

lpalgarvio CreditAttribution: lpalgarvio commentedthat basically means among other things, the best path is Admin Views,
and at least, Improved Admin, User Management, Manager and Node Admin/Content Administration modules should be deprecated.

klonos...sorry for the title edit, but this is less vague for our dashboards.
lpalgarvio CreditAttribution: lpalgarvio commented#21 - that is true. i've known it for quite a while, but it's a much more complicated solution and doesn't replaces the default pages (last time i checked)
#22 - you're right! making another change.
lpalgarvio CreditAttribution: lpalgarvio commentedBy now, Administration Views seems to be the most active and supported module (may not have the most installs)
These have been deprecated:
Administration Menu: #958534: admin_menu views vs manager
User Management: #1235170: similar modules, deprecate
These don't seem active:
Manager: #958520: similar modules, deprecate
Content Management Filter: #1236002: similar modules, deprecate
Node Admin/Content Administration: #592416: similar modules, deprecate
Up to you what to do, if anything, from now on
