Hi I just installed the workflow modules thinking that I can hide certain fieldgroups on a form depending on what the current workflow is. But it seems like the modules aren't linked in anyway. Is it too much work to get these modules working together?
Thanks,
Daimian

kevin.mcnamee@mailbox.org CreditAttribution: kevin.mcnamee@mailbox.org commentedI am reopening the issue because the Rules integration does not solve this issue as far as I can tell. What I think is being asked for is that a field can by configured to be "Controlled by" a Workflow. Currently a field can only be controlled by other fields.
Cheers,
Kevin

johnvUp until version 7.x-2.x, Workflow was not a 'real' field.
In 7.x-2.x, you can choose between Field mode and Conventional mode, and in 8.x1.x, only the Field mode exists.
So, it should be doable to support Workflow for the new version, patching either Workflow or Conditional fields.
For D8, see also #2639372: Set entity fields to hidden/view/edit/required based upon workflow state and its child issues.

dqdThanks for the report and all the efforts in here. But due to inactivity in this issue for some years and because of the upcoming EOL of Drupal 7, I will close this issue on the way by cleaning up the issue queue.
Feel free to re-open as "Needs review" if you found a solution or have a patch to be reported to help others on this outdated version.
If you think this issue or missing feature should be addressed in a newer Drupal core 8 and above compatible version of this project, then please file a new issue to the latest dev.
