I'd like to assign each user a random avatar on registration (without them picking one). I enabled "Enable random default avatar image" thinking that it would allow this, but instead when someone signs up they get the default site image (not one of the avatars). Is there a way to auto-assign a random default image and then when they're logged in they can change it in their profile? Currently they can pick one once they're logged in (which is what I want), but i'd also like to auto-assign one when they register.

stella CreditAttribution: stella commentedThe "Enable random default avatar image" option should do it. I've tested it here and can't reproduce it, though I am using the latest dev version.

ressa CreditAttribution: ressa commentedThe problem is that the new user has to go to the "Edit" page and save, before the random avatar is assigned. I think it would be better if the avatar is assigned automatically the moment a new user registers, since most users won't go to the "Edit" page and click "Save".
Why should they, if not to update avatar image, in which case a random default avatar image wouldn't be needed in the first place 8o)
