Is anyone trying to get the Buddylist chat feature working in D7? Or, is there another route I should go perhaps? Chatting is not working [for me] currently, but I'm happy to help contribute patches if anyone else thinks this might be useful.

yes, i have committed some code for buddy list chat, and have some uncommitted fixes.

if you'd like to help beat this in to shape, the chatroom project is the place to do it.
