from what version to what version?
what in the UPGRADE.txt file included in core doesn't help?

Hello twiggy2010,

For updating drupal core you need to download the latest version of drupal and replace all your files with the new files excluding the sites folder(Important- DO not change the sites folder) .
After replacing the files login in your application with the admin account and make the url as www.yoursite.com/update.php. It will list the files that are updated. Simply continue and you are done.
