There's been talk of having a field for entering the address and have it create a Google map. The Geolocation Field module does this in a nice way: http://drupal.org/project/geolocation. See also a tutorial at http://codekarate.com/daily-dose-of-drupal/drupal-7-geolocation-field-mo...

This module looks interesting. How would someone use it in the Starterkit?

kreynen CreditAttribution: kreynen commentedI personally like mapping and geocoding, but I also know from the Open Media beta work that trying to collect that information for every show adds a lot of clutter to the form and not many people fill it out. CiviCRM can render maps of members, but I don't know of any stations that use it to show a map of their members.
There's never going to be an end to the interesting things people can do with Drupal, but they should do that on top of the kit. The kits should have some focus (at least the easy and moderate) and try to get to the point where they are solid and well documented before adding more features.
@avguy started http://cmdrupal.org/ with the easy starter kit, but I'm hoping he adds http://drupal.org/project/geolocation to that as well as http://drupal.org/project/timeline. The D7 version of http://okv.se/ would actually be the easy kit + everything from moderate that isn't CiviCRM and http://drupal.org/project/cm_airing_grid, http://drupal.org/project/cm_playlist_builder, and http://drupal.org/project/cinegy which definitely qualify as difficult.
@westis, if would be great to show people what you are doing with Playlist Builder, Airing Grid, and Cinegy's interstitials. I know everything isn't done and doesn't look as good as you'd like, but creating a behind the scenes walkthrough of Show -> Playlist -> Airing -> Cinegy -> Air would really help people understand what's possible.
I've added some explanation to each kit at http://drupal.org/documentation/build/community-media. Feel free to rewrite that. Those are just my thoughts.

jdcreativity CreditAttribution: jdcreativity commented@westis Maybe a good resolution is to create an appendix or last last page in the documentation making recommendations of additional modules. I'm sort of on board that the Easy Kit seems pretty full right now.
