The token | [site:name] is being displayed first in web browsers when it should not.
I have used custom keywords text I have placed before the token should be displayed before the token.

Could you please let me know what the exact value is in the page title meta tag field and what the exact output is? Thanks :)

Road Kill’s picture

The output is EDGE MULTIMEDIA | Web Design and Website Development
The value in the page title field is WEBSITE DESIGN and WEB DESIGN CAPE TOWN | [site:name]

The output Web Design and Website Development Cape Town | EDGE MULTIMEDIA | was changes about a month ago to WEBSITE DESIGN and WEB DESIGN CAPE TOWN | EDGE MULTIMEDIA
I have gone though all the page titles but cannot find the Web Design and Website Development very strange.
The other thing is this problem only started after we update to the latest Meta tags version.

I have reverted back to 7.x-1.0-beta2 and it appears to have resolved the problem. I will try upgrading to 7.x-1.0-beta4 and let you know how that goes

Thank you for your time and effort with this.

Hi,

I have a similar problem. The meta-tage "title" is a complete other text then the text in the title field. See attachements. I dont know, where the text from the title tag comes from. Maybe an old one.
The og:title shows the wrong text also. I have the problem on my start page only.

Please test with the latest -dev release.

Hi,

after update to beta5 the problem still exists. My start page shows [current-page:title] | [site:name] from the global settings. But the individual page title is another one.

Are either of you using the Page Title module by any chance? What are you using for the page displays - normal templates, Panels, Display Suite, etc? Are you using the latest version of Token?

Hi,

Till beta3 everthing was ok. I'm using normal templates and only views. All my modules are up to date. I have running 3 german websites and on every site the problem exists.

Now I have set the page title in the Global:startsite - setting. This title is shown correctly.

@knarzer77: Please paste in the values from the each setting so I can see what is being entered. And, again, are you using Page Title or any other module that might affect the title?

The Page Title module was installed on drupal 6. Since upgrade to drupal 7 I only using the meta tag module.
I attached 2 screenshots. One with the global settings and one with the settings of the start page.

@knarzer77: I'm still missing something. What node form are you showing me - a random node page or is it also the site's front page?

knarzer77’s picture

This is my Front Page.

DamienMcKenna’s picture

Do you have anything assigned for the front page meta tags (admin/config/search/metatags/config/global%3Afrontpage)?

knarzer77’s picture

At the moment I assigned my custom page title to admin/config/search/metatags/config/global%3Afrontpage, so that the page title is shown correctly on my front page.
But after reset of this setting the page title is wrong again - [current-page:title] | [site:name] from the global setting.

knarzer77’s picture

Hi,

when i deactivate the setting "global: front page", then my front page shows the custom page title (screenshot "setting with wrong front page.jpg").

when i activate the setting "global: front page", but not override, then my front page shows the global page title (screenshot "setting with good front page.jpg").

Is this ok?

This is by design. The default page title value for the front page is '[site:name] | [site:slogan]', so if you want something different you need to customize the settings.
