Do you think it would be possible without coding (I know very little of PHP) to let the applicants to register automatically without mail confirmation?

I would like to have as much candidates as possible in my website, but for the recruiters... I would like them to be approved by me with mail confirmation...as it is right now by default.

Any configuration process? I had a look to Rules, but I don't understand them very well.

There is only a global setting in admin/config/people/accounts.

You can also take a look at http://drupal.org/project/user_registrationpassword or http://drupal.org/project/logintoboggan, which try to improve the registration process.
We're using the user_registrationpassword module in combination with login_destination on a few sites and are satisfied with it.
