The last commit was nearly five months ago, and it seems like the last time any of the maintainers said anything re: the D7 version was in February (~8 months ago). Indeed, it seems like May 2012 was the last time any of the maintainers replied to anything in the issue queue.
All of this (especially the last point) raises the question: is this module still supported?
While I myself don't have the time to work on something this big, by the maintainers at least admitting they've moved on, the search for new maintainers can start and this project can continue to live.
Not at all trying to be a dick here -- it seems like some fantastic work has been done so far, albeit for a version of Drupal that's quickly becoming irrelevant.
Alternatively, if this module is in fact still supported and you need another dev to push the D7 version out the door, please feel fee to drop me a line, I'd be happy to help.

russelljns CreditAttribution: russelljns commentedI would also like to know as this module is critical to moving forward with my website. I am a total noob with magento and drupal so I wouldnt know where to begin in helping out with the module creation but I would love to see this developed. If there is anything I can do I will. Currently I have 7.x installed and rather than downgrading my drupal version I would like to know if a compatible version is coming or if further development is required? Is there anyone that can help?

Drupal webmasters -- no maintainer of Magento has responded to my emails or this issue. It has been long past two weeks since I posted this and contacted them. Please see the original issue; this project appears to be unsupported as of roughly May 2012.
I'd offer to undertake this project -- I've been working on similar functionality at work (albeit for Drupal 7) -- but have thus far been unable to convince my boss to let me distribute my work. I'll keep trying, but in the meantime, it's probably worth opening up ownership to anyone willing and able to take over the project.
@BeyondLogic -- I posted this nearly 2 months ago. I mailed all the committers and received no response from any of them. I'm assuming they were all involved in the same tragic moose-wrestling accident (møøse bites Kan be pretty nasti). There is no Drupal 7 version coming in the foreseeable future and the existing Drupal 6 version appears to be unsupported by its maintainers.
If you really need some way of combining a CMS with Magento and aren't wedded to Drupal already, I'd suggest looking to WordPress (ugh) at the moment -- there seems to be a fairly well-used integration at http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/wordpress-integration.html

russelljns CreditAttribution: russelljns commentedThanks for the update. I am aware of the wordpress integration and I am looking into it as a stop gap for another website I am working on but I really would like to see drupal / magento. I found this today http://groups.drupal.org/magento in particular this is interesting http://groups.drupal.org/node/276253
I have also looked at Ubercart which at first look doesn't seem to have as much to it as magento, and today I saw something called commerce. I live in hope that your boss is feeling generous Monday or that maybe I buy you a very large coffee? Cheers AE

aendra CreditAttribution: aendra commented@fizk -- Really?! Awesome! Just awesome! Hooray for fizk!
If you need any help with anything, drop me a line and I'll see what I can do. :)
Also, there's some discussion of this at http://groups.drupal.org/comment/reply/278198 -- I don't know your development style, but it seems like there's a decent level of demand and you might be able to rally some help there.

fizk CreditAttribution: fizk commentedSorry everyone, having known Magento was open source, I assumed it was licensed under the GPL. It turns out it's licensed under the OSL v3. I've reviewed the OSL and I don't agree with it, so I don't want to support Magento.
Also, Magento was fully acquired by eBay in 2011, which doesn't give me confidence in its future direction.
@sreynen, please remove me from the project.
